Learn more about Monica Alvidrez, Quality Specialist – Complaints, and her experience as part of the Quality team.

Q. Can you tell us a little about your role at PDI?

Alvidrez: I am the sole PDI Corporate Quality Specialist-Complaints. My responsibility is to process product complaints; track and trend complaint data; work with both internal and external teams to ensure appropriate customer complaint resolutions and to ensure that adequate data is obtained and provided for investigations, as well as external reporting performed by other teams within the organization.

Q. What does “Be the Difference” mean to you?

Alvidrez: Going above and beyond, even when no one is looking.

Q. What impact do you feel your function has had on the industry, particularly during COVID?

Alvidrez: It is highly important that all complaints are logged and trended. This will ensure that the product complaint is being tracked for investigation, agency reporting, product changes, etc. Providing the investigators complete and accurate data is paramount to a thorough and robust investigation. Customers can be reassured that PDI takes their product concerns seriously, allowing for a trustworthy and long-term business relationship, providing peace of mind that we, as an organization, take great strides in ensuring quality products.

Q. Have you participated in any charitable programs or events through PDI? If so, which ones and what impact did that program have on our local community?

Alvidrez: The first one that comes to mind is PDI’s Be the Difference Day, where I assisted with the setup for the 2019 Be The Difference Day event, which benefits various local not-for-profit organizations, including food banks and shelters. I attended the VCS’s 2019 Golf Outing dinner and ceremony in support of Child Abuse Prevention. And most recently, I made a monetary donation to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Q. How long have you been with PDI and why have you decided to stay with the company?

Alvidrez: August will mark my four-year anniversary with PDI. The reason I stay is simple – because of the people. I have the pleasure of working with a great number of PDI internal staff, sales teams, external customers, and at times, individual consumers. Building meaningful rapport with others makes doing my job easier and enjoyable.
