United Way Fall Day of Caring

Nice-Pak/PDI has been the lead sponsor for the United Way of Rockland’s Day of Caring for almost 10 years. Its purpose is to have businesses in the community help not-for-profit agencies and others in need with projects, without burdening their budgets. Projects in the past have included painting, yard work, inventory rotation, working with seniors, etc.

This year almost 30 Nice-Pak and PDI associates stepped up and gave of their time and talents to help worthy organizations in our local community. Some volunteered at the Center for Safety and Change, which works to develop strategies to end gender-based violence and provides shelter and supportive services that empower survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse and other crimes. Others assisted at VISIONS Camp for the Blind (VCB). VCB is owned and operated by VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, a nonprofit social service and vision rehabilitation agency serving blind youth, adults, elders and blind children with their parents. It is one of the largest and most comprehensive residential rehabilitation and training facilities of its kind in the US.
