Learn more about Megha Patel, Senior Product Manager and her experiences working as part of the PDI Healthcare Environment of Care Marketing team.

Q. Can you tell us a little about your role at PDI?

Patel: I am the Senior Product Manager on the Environment of Care team which focuses on surface disinfectants. I am responsible for upstream marketing, new product development projects and launches.

Q. What does “Be the Difference” mean to you?

Patel: A motivator for me is that ultimately everything I do, everything PDI does is helping to reduce infections in the healthcare setting – what I do on a day to day basis has an impact on someone’s life. I strive to be the difference everyday– the products I work on allow PDI to be a trusted partner for healthcare providers, helping them do their jobs so that we can reduce preventable infections in the healthcare setting.

Q. What new skills have you learned while working at PDI? How have you developed personally and professionally?

Patel: As my role is focused on upstream marketing, it’s been a valuable experience to focus in on developing product launch excellence processes. At PDI, the end user is also different than those in my prior roles, allowing me to learn new ways to market to a different demographic.

Q. Are there any unique / exciting projects you have been able to work on while at PDI?

Patel: Last year, PDI introduced a game changing, first of its kind technology with Sani-24 Spray within the healthcare setting. It’s been truly exciting as a marketer to create a new space within the healthcare disinfection space with a one of a kind, technologically innovative product that offers Continuously Active Disinfection for up to 24 hours against ESKAPE pathogens.

Q. What impact do you feel your function has had on the industry, particularly during COVID?

Patel: Surface disinfection is top of mind especially in today’s world. By offering products we do to reduce preventable infections, I really feel that it gives healthcare providers peace of mind and one less thing for them to worry about. They are focused on the patient – the projects and products I work on allow them the opportunity to keep that focus on the patient.

Q. How long have you been with PDI and why have you decided to stay with the company?

Patel: I have been with PDI for 3.5 years. My job is challenging, satisfying and I love working with the my colleagues here. I love what I do, and working at PDI, which is a company that has a profound impact on someone’s life with regards to reducing preventable infections makes it all the more worthwhile.

Q. How has the company evolved since you joined?

Patel: Since I joined, it’s been great to see more focus and resources towards product innovations and solutions that can help healthcare providers. It’s also been exciting to see the focus on the employees, culture of the organization, and driving inclusion, such as the launch of new resource group The Women’s Empowerment Network. It’s fantastic to work for an organization that supports its employees.
