Associate Spotlight – Shannon Ross

Q. Can you tell us a little about your role at PDI?
Ross: I am an Executive Territory Sales Manager. My day-to-day responsibilities are to uplift the PDI brand in any way possible through the acquisition of new customers and serve my current customer base.
Q. What does “Be the Difference” mean to you?
Ross: Being the Difference is taking your baseline in any function of your life and being better than that the next day. Mediocrity is never the target; Excellence is the goal.
Q. Can you provide some insights on your team dynamics/working relationships with colleagues?
Ross: Sometimes, in order to grow yourself, you have to become vulnerable to criticism. I focus on building trust with my team so we can embrace those vulnerable moments and all grow together.
Q. Do you have any interesting hobbies or fun facts you could share? (personal or work-related)
Ross: I am an adrenaline junkie. I traveled to Abu Dhabi to ride the Fastest Rollercoaster in the World; jumped out of a perfectly working airplane five times, and bungee jumped off the world’s tallest platform in Macau, China.
Q. How long have you been with PDI, and why have you decided to stay with the company?
Ross: I have been with PDI for almost 12 years. I have stayed with PDI because individuals here have made this organization feel like a family and not like a company. Period!
Q. How has the company evolved since you joined?
Ross: We are gaining a lot of traction by breaking down the silos between Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, and Sales. I’d like to give credit to a few of my mentors – David Szvetecz and George Uhl, who is really leading this company forward.
