Learn more about Kenneth Hatlee, Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist, and his experience as part of the Talent Acquisition team.

Q. Can you tell us a little about your role at PDI?

Hatlee: I am a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist and I recruit for associates at all levels across the organization, for various positions in areas such as R&D, Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Sales & Marketing and Tru-D.

Q. What new skills have you learned while working at PDI? How have you developed personally and professionally?

Hatlee: I’ve learned that all positions at PDI are so unique. Today’s hiring market is equally unique and challenging and I need to always try and think out of the box when sourcing for talent.

Q. Are there any unique / exciting projects you have been able to work on while at PDI?

Hatlee: One of Talent Acquisition’s areas of focus is Diversity. I partnered with four local universities and created an interactive virtual information session which I presented to diverse groups of students from each school. The goal was to create awareness of the PDI brand and to encourage the students to follow us for future opportunities. Feedback was positive and I’ll continue to maintain those relationships moving forward.

Q. Can you provide some insights on your team dynamics / working relationships with colleagues?

Hatlee: I started with PDI two weeks before lockdown. Naturally, I was concerned about how I was going to learn the business from home but because of the incredible support I received from everyone, my transition was much smoother than anticipated. Everyone made themselves available to me whenever needed.

Q. Do you have any interesting hobbies or fun facts you could share?

Hatlee: I began my career in TV production and worked on shows for MTV, Lifetime, Discovery Channel and the children’s show “Reading Rainbow”. I am also an actor from time to time and have performed in many local community theatre productions.

Q. What made you decide to join PDI?

Hatlee: The people I met during the interview process. I was also very interested in being a part of a smaller family owned company after working for very large publicly traded companies.

Q. How has your perspective of PDI changed since you joined the company?

Hatlee: I’m more thrilled to be a part of it all. It’s an exciting time here at PDI.
