Q. Can you tell us a little about your role at PDI?  

Glozman: I am a senior scientist in R&D. I am responsible for supporting new product development.

Q. What does “Be the Difference” mean to you?

Glozman: To be the difference for me means tipping off the scale. It means being in the right place at the right time.

Q. What new skills have you learned while working at PDI? How have you developed personally and professionally? 

Glozman: I am working on honing my skills of working with contract laboratories. It reminds me of Jeff Bezos operating robotic hands. Only it is more difficult.

Q. Are there any unique / exciting projects you have been able to work on while at PDI?

Glozman: If you are a scientist, there are always excitements! We have been working on identifying some unknown impurities, developing new analytical methods, and leveraging robotic technology. But shhh..It is not done until it is done.

Q. What has been your favorite project / program that you have been able to work on while at PDI?

Glozman: I am partial to automation. If we do it right, we should be able to lower the cost of laboratory operation with improved quality.

Q. What impact do you feel your function has had on the industry, particularly during COVID?

Glozman: As a representative of analytical chemistry, I should say that this branch of science serves as an important tool to assure patients’ and consumers’ safety.

Q. Can you provide some insights on your team dynamics / working relationships with colleagues?

Glozman: Many-many years ago, when I was a child I had a kaleidoscope, where stained glass pieces form together marvelous geometric designs. When the kaleidoscope is rotating, designs change; Same way I see the members of our team complimenting each other to do great things.

Q. What is your favorite memory from working at PDI?

Glozman: I have been here just a year. It is time to create memories rather than recollecting them.

Q. Do you have any interesting hobbies or fun facts you could share? (personal or work related) 

Glozman: I am avid chess player. In my youth I was regular participant in local and regional tournaments in Russia.

Q. What made you decide to join PDI?

Glozman: I wanted to explore [a] different industry. Also, I really liked the idea of working closer to home to spend more time with my family.

Q. How has your perspective of PDI changed since you joined the company? 

Glozman: I find working at PDI is just like playing chess. To succeed you need to keep the right pieces on the board and place them in right spots.
